About this site

About this website: VoluntarySimplicity.org.uk is an attempt to gather articles and web content relating to voluntary simplicity and simple living on the internet.  I’m scouring the net, looking for interesting articles and clippings that I myself enjoy reading. My bookmarks folder was getting bigger and bigger, and by putting this site together I thought it might be a good way of organising these reading sources for myself, plus I get to share them with you. Besides search engines, I use various library services and archived news searches to find articles.

About me: I have been interested in voluntary simplicity since around 2005, when I started to question a life mainly centered around living for the weekend, and acquiring material goods to dull my senses. I decided to leave full-time working life behind as a Marketing Manager in July 2007, and I now work from home as a freelancer, building and marketing websites and translating documents.

This has enabled me to do more of the little things in life that make life itself enjoyable, such as reading, taking photographs, taking on new subjects such as languages and philosophy, riding my bicycle, riding my motorbike, and so on. There is less money in my life, but also much less stress and so much more good stuff!

All the best,
Perpetual Tourist
